Aim:
The purpose of Journal of Integrated Earth Science is to encourage research in geosciences reaching out to the general public including stakeholders or those involved in industry, agriculture, planning and other tertiary segments. To promote geoscience and scientific thought for improving the quality of living and conservation of the environment, ecology, air, water, land and marine resources. Further, through this journal it is intended to create a platform for knowledge sharing and intellectual interaction among the contributors in the scientific community. To uphold the motto of one world striving for unity among the scientific community.
Scope:
Journal of Integrated Earth Science is the official online/offline journal of Geological Society of Kerala. There will be two issues per year. This scientific research journal offers a platform for innovative research in various domains related to earth and environmental sciences in a holistic and comprehensive system approach. It encourages precise documentation of research in earth sciences covering areas of Continental Geology, Marine Geology, Atmosphere, Environment, Earth Resources, Earth Evolution, Mining, Engineering, Resource Management, Geo-Ethics, etc.

Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Integrated Earth Sciences (JIES) is committed to maintaining rigorous academic standards through a structured and ethical peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo a formal review to ensure scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Type of Review
The journal follows a Double-Blind Peer Review system:
The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.
Manuscripts are anonymized before being sent to reviewers.
- Reviewer Selection Process
Each manuscript is first screened by the Editorial Board for thematic relevance, plagiarism, and basic quality.
Suitable reviewers are selected based on:
Subject expertise
Research publications in the field
Prior reviewing experience
Typically, two reviewers evaluate each paper.
In case of conflicting reviews, a third reviewer may be assigned.
- Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
All reviewers are expected to:
Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content.
Evaluate manuscripts objectively and constructively.
Avoid personal criticism or biased judgment.
Refrain from using any unpublished data from manuscripts.
Notify the editor if the topic falls outside their expertise.
The journal adheres to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) principles.
- Average Review and Decision Time
Initial Editorial Screening: 7–10 days
Peer Review Duration: 3–6 weeks
First Decision (Acceptance / Revision / Rejection): 4–8 weeks from submission
Revised manuscripts are reviewed within 2–3 weeks.
Authors are notified of delays if additional time is required.
- Conflict of Interest Policy
To maintain integrity in the review process:
Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest with the author(s), such as:
Institutional affiliation
Recent collaboration
Personal or financial relationships
Editors will reassign the manuscript if a conflict exists.
Authors must also disclose any funding sources, affiliations, or competing interests.
